Made up of the distillery’s best finish for the year, each annual limited edition in the Snowflake series is debuted at its own Snowflake festival where “Strana-fans” gather to celebrate this American whiskey pilgrimage. Edition #25 “Humboldt Peak” has humble beginnings, made from 100% Rocky Mountain barley and spring water and matured in No. 3 char American white oak. But like Stranahan’s sister distillery – Old Bushmills in Northern Ireland – it's the finishing casks that really ramp up this single malt: Cabernet Sauvignon, Oloroso Sherry and Barbados rum casks crank the red fruit and nutty notes through the roof. Aged between 5–10 years, it’s then been bottled non-chill filtered at 94 Proof (47% ABV) with no added colour.- 47.0% ABV
